This is a great one minute video that explains exactly how to open a .png, .jpg or .gif.
The most important step: Save the graphic to your hard drive in a place you can find it! This holds true for any document you receive as an attachment in an email or pull from a USB drive or CD/DVD – saving the file to your hard drive first is key.
Another tip: if you know the program type of the file you’re trying to view, open the program first. Then, go to “file” “open” and select file. I often have clients tell me that they cannot open a document when they are double clicking on the file name. I tell them to use the above method, as opening the program first activates all the converters and other files necessary to open a document. So, even if you have a different version of the program, you may still be able to open it IF you open the program first.
