As we mourn the loss of the last original member of The Ramones (1974-1996) – we rejoice that a new generation of fans is finding their tunes.
Even though this is thought of as a sad tune, I can’t help but…
I first met Lynn when she was a speaker for an annual Women TIES Retreat. Her outfit, her attitude, and her information all struck a chord with me; I knew this was a fun woman with something valuable to offer – sales info that could help me be a better entrepreneur.
Lynn not only educates group sales forces, she offers one-on-one trainings, as well as maintaining a successful sales blog and Internet radio program….
Something for the rainy day, an easy groove with a great message to get you ready for whatever the day throws your way.

I have worked in the medical field for over 20 years…
As busy entrepreneurs we sometimes find it hard to keep up on all the new advancements in technology. Even if we’re a gadget girl/guy that’s dying to know what the next greatest techie tool or toy is (like ME!) who has time to search out the info?
This is where one needs a guru that’s already done most of the legwork…
I met Amanda at a Women TIES event when her business was still a twinkle in her eye… a firework-sized twinkle! I could tell she wasn’t one to keep her foot on the brake for long; I knew it would only be a matter of time before she made a plan and put it into action.
And I was right, Amanda has been building her business and accepting challenges head-0n for over a year now. She’s definitely the driving force behind “Funk and Jackson, LLC.” You can tell she is enjoying the process of developing her business and helping other women learn how to market their businesses more effectively and efficiently.
Whatever/whomever you’re enamored with – sometimes things get in the way. If it’s worth fighting for then FIGHT! Regroup and remember what you fell in love with in the first place.
If we’re talking business, then look back at the successes that filled you up and made your soar like an eagle – proud and in charge! Grab onto the great parts and let the rest fall away (or put it in the hands of someone else).
I guess that could work for love too…
Dance like EVERYONE is watching and you just don’t care!!! Fall back in love again…. ’cause that’s what you’ll remember at journey’s end.
I first met Sandra at a Women TIES event. I instantly connected with her quiet and relaxed nature; however, I sensed that there was something about her I couldn’t put my finger on. There was a spark there I couldn’t quite articulate…
After seeing her again and chatting with her a few times online, I figured it out: it was the musician in her. I had initially met the business woman, the website designer, the visually creative person – but I felt something else there, and that something was the love of music.
Just like you can sense and “click with” a dog-lover (of which I am one), I think you can also sense those people for whom music is a large part of their lives and of their souls. I’ve always been a music lover, but never fulfilled that dream and channeled my creative energies in other directions. I admire Sandra for being brave, both by taking her musical journey and through her changing careers to follow other passions.
It will be interesting to see her new vision develop; check out…
For this Memorial Day, I post a tune that you may never have heard, by a band you’ve probably never heard of: Weapon of Prayer by The Notting Hillbillies.
The Hillbillies were a country/folk band comprised of many musicians, including Mark Knopfler, who was looking to do something a little different after his mega success with Dire Straits “Brother in Arms” CD.
The song just seems to work today…
In that land across the sea there’s a job for you and me
Though our presence there may not be found
We must stay standing there on the battle lines and pray
We must never lay our weapons down
