Fabulous Female Entrepreneurs – Chrissy Rex – Rex Design Concepts, LLC & Living Ledge, LLC

CRLLphotocuI met Chrissy Rex of Rex Design Concepts, LLC when she was displaying her Living Ledge products in 2012 at the WISE Conference in Syracuse, NY. I was immediately struck by her professionalism and the coolness/usefulness of her product! Speaking with her for only a few minutes, I knew this was someone I wanted to not only stand behind as a business woman, but really get to know as a person as well.

Meeting a few times over the past two years at events and chatting with her through Facebook and email I have come to adore and respect her! I am honored and excited to watch her grow this business and see how her whole family is invested in its’ success. Chrissy’s dedication to the nearly four-year journey of patenting the product alone is inspiring.

Her responses to my questions below reveal her strength, tenacity, explorational nature, and true love for life and living things. She really “Lives on the Ledge” and enjoys every moment of the journey!

Terminology Tuesday – What is eSATA, RAM, ROM, CPU, USB 2.0 vs 3.0?

terminology “Computer-type” terminology is everywhere now – everything has a chip or memory or some kind of “brain” in it.

We recently decided to upgrade our television service. Oddly, we got an install appointment quickly! I was sitting back, quite proud of myself, when my husband asked, “Are we going to lose all the programming we have stored on the box when they replace it?” Ugh, no one had mentioned that…. so I called the company and sure enough – they don’t move the programs for you. When I asked how to do it, the customer service rep checked his script…

Monday Morning Music… Verschwiegene Liebe (Secret Love)

Driving the other day I heard the end of this song, immediately recognized Streisand’s voice. “Classical Barbra” was recorded in 1973 and released in February 1976. The album consists of songs by classical European composers and includes tracks sung in English, French, Occitan, German, Italian and Latin. It amazes me when artists are so moved by a piece of music that they learn how to sing it in a foreign language. It takes great dedication, talent, and passion to perform masterworks in their native language so flawlessly.

Is there something that moves you that much? A “Secret Love”?

Fabulous Female Entrepreneur – Karen McMahon – ShopforMuseums.com & The Affiliate Whisperer

karen-cohortKaren McMahon is a seasoned entrepreneur who started a second business is 2013. She’s been growing ShopforMuseums.com for nearly a decade; the skills she’s developed have lead her to several contracting positions and inspired her to create her latest business, The Affiliate Whisperer.

In her interview here, she discusses how those businesses came to be. Karen also shares her insights into what it takes to be an entrepreneur, and gives us a glimpse into what she enjoys when she’s not growing two different, yet related, companies.

Karen and her husband, Al, champion efforts to care for their neighborhood’s feral cats. They have had several homeless cats spayed/neutered, and have adopted a few that were willing to accept Karen & Al’s offer of love and a warm home. These cats also enjoy helping Karen run her businesses!

Monday Morning Music… Bounce!

We’ve all had our share of difficult times – days where we feel kicked in the gut and left wondering how we’ll get back up. And as entrepreneurs, sometimes we feel like there’s no one on our side… no one to help us stand up and fight back.

I’m blessed to have a great group of friends, colleagues and fellow entrepreneurs to turn to when things get tough. I also turn to music –
