I first met Sheri at a Women TIES event. I instantly knew I was in the presence of a woman who believed in God; she was calm, quiet and strong. I wasn’t surprised to learn what her business was – it seemed natural that she would be involved in a career that would make people and their homes feel “healed”.
Redeeming Restoration is a full service Emergency Response, Mitigation, and Restoration company. The business was created when Sheri began to realize exactly what had been making her horribly ill for seven years…

I met Val Cook at an event of Laura Ponticello”s, for Laura’s List: Books for Women. Val and her writing partner, *Dr. Jill Little, had just released their book, Sharing the Medicine of Love – a non-fiction paperback about celebrating the many stages, struggles and successes in life, and the connections to spirit in everyday life.
I was moved by the ceremony Val performed that day, and her words of prayer. I felt she had a great, deep love for nature, and a creative, connecting spirit.

About the Business
- How did the idea for your business come about?
I have worked in the medical field for over 20 years…
I met Amanda at a Women TIES event when her business was still a twinkle in her eye… a firework-sized twinkle! I could tell she wasn’t one to keep her foot on the brake for long; I knew it would only be a matter of time before she made a plan and put it into action.
And I was right, Amanda has been building her business and accepting challenges head-0n for over a year now. She’s definitely the driving force behind “Funk and Jackson, LLC.” You can tell she is enjoying the process of developing her business and helping other women learn how to market their businesses more effectively and efficiently.
I first met Sandra at a Women TIES event. I instantly connected with her quiet and relaxed nature; however, I sensed that there was something about her I couldn’t put my finger on. There was a spark there I couldn’t quite articulate…
After seeing her again and chatting with her a few times online, I figured it out: it was the musician in her. I had initially met the business woman, the website designer, the visually creative person – but I felt something else there, and that something was the love of music.
Just like you can sense and “click with” a dog-lover (of which I am one), I think you can also sense those people for whom music is a large part of their lives and of their souls. I’ve always been a music lover, but never fulfilled that dream and channeled my creative energies in other directions. I admire Sandra for being brave, both by taking her musical journey and through her changing careers to follow other passions.
It will be interesting to see her new vision develop; check out…
I met Chrissy Rex of Rex Design Concepts, LLC when she was displaying her Living Ledge products in 2012 at the WISE Conference in Syracuse, NY. I was immediately struck by her professionalism and the coolness/usefulness of her product! Speaking with her for only a few minutes, I knew this was someone I wanted to not only stand behind as a business woman, but really get to know as a person as well.
Meeting a few times over the past two years at events and chatting with her through Facebook and email I have come to adore and respect her! I am honored and excited to watch her grow this business and see how her whole family is invested in its’ success. Chrissy’s dedication to the nearly four-year journey of patenting the product alone is inspiring.
Her responses to my questions below reveal her strength, tenacity, explorational nature, and true love for life and living things. She really “Lives on the Ledge” and enjoys every moment of the journey!

Karen and her husband, Al, champion efforts to care for their neighborhood’s feral cats. They have had several homeless cats spayed/neutered, and have adopted a few that were willing to accept Karen & Al’s offer of love and a warm home. These cats also enjoy helping Karen run her businesses!
